My stay at the hotel was mostly enjoyable, thanks to the spacious and comfortable room, along with the beautiful grounds that offered a lovely retreat. However, the dining experience was less than ideal, especially in the evenings, and the food quality could use improvement. The staff were friendly and helpful, but the menu was quite limited during our stay. Overall, I appreciated the value for money regarding the room and breakfast but would suggest avoiding evening meals at the hotel.

Overall, my stay was quite enjoyable with pleasant service and excellent dining experiences. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, contributing to a relaxing getaway. However, there were a few inconsistencies during my visit, particularly with the dining options and service quality during subsequent stays. Still, the quality of food and the attentiveness of some staff members stood out.

I had a mixed experience at this hotel. The beautiful and spacious room provided a comfortable retreat, but I was disappointed by the service during breakfast and the noise disturbance from nearby Sellafield. The overall ambiance and dining experience were quite enjoyable, though I did experience some frustrations with the breakfast offerings. Overall, it has potential but there's room for improvement.

Rooms

My room was spacious and luxurious, complete with an elegant period fireplace, which added to the charm. However, I noticed that the carpet could benefit from a thorough cleaning as it had some stubborn stains.
Service
6.0
While the staff was generally helpful, there was a notable delay when ensuring my twin room was ready, which could have been managed better. Breakfast service also seemed lacking as key items were unavailable.

Nestled in attractive grounds, the hotel has a quaint country vibe, although the proximity to Sellafield brought some unexpected industrial noise during the night.

The dining experience was quite a highlight, with an informal yet impressive menu. I truly enjoyed the presentation and quality of the evening meal, but the breakfast experience left something to be desired due to limited options.

I recently stayed at this hotel and found it to be a very comfortable and quiet retreat. The rooms were spacious, and it offered a peaceful environment to unwind. While I really enjoyed the extensive grounds and beautiful gardens, the service could use some improvement, especially in terms of attention from the staff. Overall, I felt I got good value for my money, but there were minor issues that detracted from the experience.

Staying at this hotel was an experience filled with both charm and some challenges. The room itself was spacious and had a lot of character, but the stained carpet was a bit off-putting. I was impressed by the quality of the food, especially the breakfast, but service inconsistencies, particularly during our first evening, left a mixed impression. The photos don’t quite do justice to the beautiful grounds that provided a lovely backdrop during our stay.

Rooms
8.0
Our room was huge and full of character, featuring a 4-poster bed that added a touch of luxury. However, the carpet was clean but very stained, which detracted from the overall ambiance.
Service
6.0
While the service had its highs and lows, the lady at the front desk the next morning was delightful and made up for the earlier awkwardness. Unfortunately, we experienced a hiccup with our booking that quite frankly could have been handled better.
Location
9.0
Nestled in beautiful gardens and away from the town center, the location was quite peaceful. Perfect for taking long walks and soaking in the tranquility of the surroundings.
Dining
9.0
We were pleasantly surprised by the dining experience, especially breakfast, which featured top-notch dishes made from local produce. The quality really stood out during our visit.
Facilities
7.0
The overall facilities were good, yet there was room for improvement in terms of service efficiency during the dinner hour.
